CDFW Hosts Fourth Installment of Speaker Series at Nimbus Hatchery

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is hosting the fourth installment of its speaker series with a presentation on Aquatic Invasive Species in the American River. The event will be held at the Nimbus Hatchery Visitor Center in Rancho Cordova on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. Preregistration is not required.

The presentation is part of a program highlighting the first annual California Invasive Species Action Week, Aug. 2-10. Other activities during the week include field tours to check invasive crayfish traps on the American River and an opportunity for volunteers to assist in invasive plant removal on the American River Parkway near the hatchery.

The fifth and final session in the hatchery’s speaker series will be salmon fishing on the American River on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
