Five members of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (CDFW) top leadership will participate in a panel at this weekend’s International Sportsmen’s Exposition (ISE) at Cal Expo in Sacramento.
The panel will take place Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. in the Cal Expo Pavilion. Director Charlton H. Bonham, Deputy Director of Wildlife and Fisheries Dan Yparraguirre, Chief of Law Enforcement Michael Carion, Chief of Wildlife Eric Loft and Chief of Fisheries Stafford Lehr will answer questions from the public on a variety of fish and wildlife related topics. Sep Hendrickson, host of the award-winning “California Sportsmen” radio show on KHTK 1140 in Sacramento, will moderate the panel.
CDFW will also have a number of booths at ISE in the Pavilion building. CDFW staff will answer questions and all licenses, tags and report cards will be available for sale. The new 2014 CDFW Warden Stamp will be available for purchase ($5) to help support CDFW enforcement and fund the purchase of equipment.
There will also be a law enforcement trailer staffed by wildlife officers that’s full of beautiful fish and wildlife mounts and contains a free laser shot game. At the trailer, ISE attendees can learn about becoming a wildlife officer. Heritage and Wild Trout staff will be in the Fly Fishing Building and will share information about the many trout fishing opportunities in California. A special Youth Fair is also set up to display a variety of outdoor activities catered toward young people. Youths will have a chance to catch a fish and to enjoy those activities with trained instructors and outdoor experts.
The fee is $15 for adults, with youths and active military admitted free. For more information, please visit http://www.sportsexpos.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewlocation&locationnumber=1.
