Elkhorn Slough Reserve Offers Spanish Speaking Nature Tours in August

When: 11 a.m. every Saturday in August (10, 17, 24 and 31)

Where: Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve Visitor Center – 1700 Elkhorn Road, Royal Oaks 95076

What: Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, the second largest estuary in California, is offering Spanish speaking tours for the month of August.

Explore five miles of trails and the opportunity to view a wide variety of birds and marine life. No reservation is needed. There is a $4 entrance fee for anyone over the age of 16.

The tours provided are a result of the partnership with “Environment for the Americas” which is funded through the President Barack Obama’s “America’s Great Outdoors“ initiative that promotes conservation and outdoor recreation.

The Reserve is managed by CDFW in cooperation with the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and the Elkhorn Slough Foundation, and is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
